Amy has been working in sports medicine and orthopedics for over 10 years as a Certified Athletic Trainer, and now as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. As an athletic trainer, she’s had the opportunity to treat high-level athletes at the collegiate and professional level, as well as developing athletes in junior high and high school. She also had the benefit of working in a multi-disciplinary practice where she gained extensive experience treating the non-athlete. It was there that she learned the incredible benefits of a multi-disciplinary approach to treating patients. This sparked her interest to become a Physical Therapist and to learn as many approaches to treatment as possible for the benefit of her patients.
Amy received her Bachelor of Science in Health Management with a special emphasis in Athletic Training from Southeast Missouri State University in 1999. She continued her education and became certified in Visceral Manipulation (VM1) in 2009.
Amy earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Mount Saint Mary’s College in 2010. Currently she continues her educational pursuit and is participating in an Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency program through HealthCare Partners in affiliation with Kaiser Permanente. She will complete this program in December of 2011 and will eligible to sit for the Orthopedic Clinical Specialist Boards.
