Laura has been professionally involved in the fitness industry for the past 30 years, beginning in 1981 as an aerobic dance instructor. This inspired her to branch out to personal training and in 1997 she opened one of the first personal training gyms in Connecticut. As an avid athlete, Laura became interested in Pilates 12 years ago, first as a rehab modality after a severe mountain bike injury. Realizing the benefits of Pilates through her own rehabilitation, she then became a certified Pilates instructor in order to help others rehabilitate from their injuries.
Laura received her Master’s Degree in Exercise Science in 1997 from Southern Connecticut State University. Additionally, she holds certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and is 3rd generation Pilates trained receiving her Pilates certification from IM=X Pilates in Manhattan New York.
